24[Announcement] DavidRisley.com Becomes Blog Marketing Academy
Filed in: Blogging by RMS on 05-24-12The headline sort of gives it away…
As of today, DavidRisley.com is now Blog Marketing Academy. And this site will now be accessible at BlogMarketingAcademy.com.

Changing the domain of an established website is a bit of gutsy move. It isn’t one that I take lightly. I had been debating the move for a few months – privately. Then, it was in the works for the last few weeks.
So, why the change?
And why “Blog Marketing Academy”?
Personal Name Versus Brand Name
This is a question with no single right answer. It also happens to be one which I’ve been asked about many times.

Over the last few days, I’ve told you that I am making some changes to my company. I’m not yet going to divulge every detail of that, but I AM going to tell you why I’m doing it.
It is because the “make money blogging” space that I’m in is inherently BROKEN.
… and the “gurus” of this space have failed.
And the result of this is plain as day. Most bloggers are:
- Confused on what to do.
- Overwhelmed.
- Concentrating on the wrong things… if they even have a real focus at all.
- Not making any money.

If you’ve ever watched a show like Dragons Den or Shark Tank, then you would have seen a brief glimpse into the world of venture capitalism. Many entrepreneurs view the show from the perspective of the business owners, but have you ever wanted to sit in the seats of the Dragons and Sharks instead? What if you could make a steady flow of income that way.
Offering an alternative to investments like the stock market is Uinvest. As we make our way through today’s review, we’ll have a look at how Uinvest is structured, how you can invest in a wide range of businesses, and whether or not you can turn a signficant profit by helping these companies along.

Chances are, you are in 1 of 2 different camps as a blogger…
But, first, check out this all-too-common scenario.
You get an idea for a killer blog. You think it is going to be awesome. You’re going to make it the internet’s premiere site on this topic, and you’re going to be awesome.
You’ll be the ninja, the guru, the authority on the niche.
You see what the “A-list” does, so you’ll do that. So, you write a LOT of blog posts. I mean, seriously – A LOT of them. You write an e-book that you plan to sell. This thing is gorgeous! A work of art. You know this isn’t some cheesy ebook. It has a lot of value.

That headline was a saying I learned from my family. Despite the colorful language, the motto is a life lesson that all of us need to operate by.
See, too many people live their lives in a constant state of “someday, maybe I will….”. It doesn’t matter how that sentence ends (it is different for everybody), but one thing is common. It is a maybe. Not a yes or a no, but a maybe.
And, what happens? We get stuck. We don’t move. We talk a big game. We make todo lists. We jot down ideas. But, we don’t take any action.

Step 1/3: Understand the system
The trading system shown here is based on the monitoring of trends , a strategy widely used by many professional traders and recognized for its effectiveness. An asset rises or falls when pushed in that direction by large financial powers that influence the financial markets such as investment funds and banks. The principle of this method is very simple:
If the recent history of an asset shows a significant and constant increase, it is more probable that it will continue to rise in the near future in that direction rather than the probability that it will go the other way. We will therefore invest on the asset going up.

This blogging space is… interesting. It has changed alot, too, since the days when I got started in this niche.
I guess I have some perspective on how things have changed. After all, I’m probably the most “veteran” of almost any online publisher you know. I got started in this business WAY the hell back in 1998.
I was solely a technology blogger up until 2008, at which point I got into this blogger market. I did it because I felt like I had something to bring to the table. Plus, I wanted an outlet to scratch an itch that didn’t have to do with tech.

06Dot Com Pho – Real Birthdays of Orange County Edition
Filed in: Make Money Online by RMS on 05-06-12Things are always done differently in Orange County, so I guess I shouldn’t expect kiddie birthday parties to be the same as Vancouver. For one thing, nearly all the OC birthday parties are done outdoor. You have the great Southern California weather to thank for that. In addition to the standard inflatable castle, this birthday party included horseback riding and a miniature train. I hope Sally is not expecting a bigger production when her birthday rolls around.
